I HAVE MOVED ! FOLLOW MY JOURNEY HERE

This week I have been so busy trying to learn as much as I can about the 30 Day Challenge. I have been going through the blogs and videos and setting up my flock web browser with all the add-ons recommended. I have continued to click on my cashback sites as well as place a couple of bets.

I just checked my eBay items – nothing has sold, no-one is looking. I also realised that I had been throwing money away by using the fancy design templates for my ads. I am very new to eBay so didn’t realise that it cost extra for those templates. Bummer. Anyway I have gone back to the plain old white backgrounds to display my stuff. Hopefully I will have more luck.

This actually consists of the summary from the beginning of this experiment which was 19th June 2008. I originally started a blog on Microsoftoffice.live but it didn’t seem to be set up to register UK addresses so I gave up and here I am on wordpress.

I got a lot of information from the forum on the website moneysavingexpert.com. Very friendly and helpful people. That is where I first heard about cashback sites.

The 30 Day Challenge – Wow!

I have been very busy since last I wrote. I have discovered the 30 Day Challenge. This is a challenge that will take place for the month of August with the aim of creating a niche site and making money without spending a single penny. Well this definitely fits in with what I am trying to achieve so I have signed up. The man who is running this challenge is called Ed Dale and he is based in Australia. His programme is presented via his website and video blogs. I will definitely be learning a lot more about the internet and how to create new cash making possibilities.


Cash Making Streams

I have been trying to get myself organized so that I am not wasting my time, which very easy to do on the internet. I look at one thing, telling myself I will only browse for few minutes – 2 hours later I am still browsing and haven’t achieved a thing. Well it is so interesting reading other people’s opinions.

Anyway I have set myself the following weekly routine:

Monday

Add 2 items to eBay

Place one bet to “win” at least £10

Work on niche website

Tuesday

Click on two items on a cashback site to earn at least 40p

Work on niche website

Wednesday

Add 2 items to eBay

Place one bet to “win at least £10

Work on niche website

Thursday

Click on two items on a cashback site to earn at least 25p

Work on niche website

Friday

Click on two items on a cashback site to earn at least 20p

Place one bet to “win at least £10

Work on niche website

Saturday

Add 2 items to eBay

Click on two items on a cashback site to earn at least 40p

Work on niche website

Sunday

Should be day of rest but we shall see……….

Today I made £8.92 profit on my tennis bet. I even watched the match on TV. I was very happy to see that I did the bet correctly. Next time I will be brave and put on £50 in order to get a free bet of £50. I also put a bet on the Venus and Serena Williams tennis final. I should also make around £8 profit. It might not sound like much but every little bit helps.
I signed up to 888ladies.com bingo site, which offered free £10. I currently have £11.66 which I cannot withdraw. I have to try and get to at least £25 I think, have to check the rules.
I am currently playing mirrorbingo.com where I had £5.03 which I couldn’t withdraw. I think I am now on a losing streak – but that’s ok. I made and withdrew my £54 already so it’s all good.

I have signed up for a free 2 week Blockbuster DVD in the post trial via Greasy Palm which earned me £10 cashback. I must check the terms and condition so that I can cancel it in time and not incur charges.

Betfair and Coral have tracked through Quidco. This is a total cashback of £65. Brilliant! It is just a shame that it takes so long to actually get hold of the money – 2 to 3 months. I would prefer to have this money in the bank so that I can start working on my next venture which is to develop a website. Maybe I’ll get lucky and make enough funds from the match betting.

Checked eBay – my tracksuit bottoms didn’t sell, didn’t even attract a bid. I now know that there were far too many of the same product for people to choose from so need to learn how to get my product higher up the food chain. This was a good learning curve and it didn’t cost me anything.

Today I went to the library to get more books on creating websites. I have a couple ideas of what I would like to do but still have to work out if I can actually make any money from these ventures.Through my reading I found that I may not need to buy the Build a Niche Store product as I may be able to design my own site. That will certainly be an interesting experiment.

I signed back into 888ladies.com bingo site and got my balance up to £29.03. I quickly deposited £5 so that I could withdraw my winnings but I didn’t read the terms and conditions where it states that the minimum amount that can be withdrawn is £30 not including your first deposit. Will I be lucky and get to this figure? Watch this space…….

I also signed up to Daily Record Bingo which also offered £10 free. Have yet to start using this one.

I signed up with Paddy Power via Quidco to get £20 cashback and £20 free bet. I deposited £10 (from my bingo winnings) and placed my first bet on the Men’s Wimbledon Final, which will make me a loss of 72p. Unfortunately I placed my £20 bet but did not have enough in my Betfair kitty to cover it so had to deposit another £10 (again from my bingo winnings). I should walk away with a profit of £8.37 if my maths is correct. Let me tell you It is very stressful trying to make sure that I put bets on correctly without risking my own money. I do hope it gets easier over time…….

The £20 bet was also placed on the men’s tennis final.

I have come to realise that I do not have the patience to do the daily clicks. All the time it takes to earn 75p just isn’t worth it. Not sure if it is because my computer is too slow or that it just takes a long time to load these sites. I did sign up to Tesco Internet Saver account via getpoundsback to earn £20 cashback. I also went back to Mirror Bingo to claim my winnings. However I found that I was not allowed to retrieve the actual money that I deposited (£5) so in the end it cost me £5 to win £56 – still not a bad return. Now I have to use the £5 on games so it is possible to make more – bet I won’t though. We shall see…I have now set up my eBay account and have started to place my first item for sale, a fantastic pair of navy blue Lonsdale jogging pants. I will put them on for a minimum bid of 99p. See what happens.

Between Tuesday and now I have been doing a lot more reading about match betting and about creating a website, using a web programme called BANS = Build A Niche Store. For a cost of about £45 you get the information to create a store which links to eBay products. Any product purchased through your store earns you money. So there is no need to own or supply your own stock. You act as a sort of agent, steering customers to eBay. I am thinking using my bingo winnings to purchase and create this website. Further investigation is required.I have now signed up to two betting sites, Coral and Betfair. I did this through Quidco, hopefully earning cashback of £35 and £30 respectively if they tracked properly. I should also receive £10 free bet from Coral.

I have placed my very first bet – Wimbledon semi final – on the Nadal/ Schuleeter tennis match. This first bet combined adds up to £10.15 and will make a loss of 19p but since I will receive free bets from both sites I should hopefully make this back and then some. Look forward to that.
